Everyone has an abortion story.

For some, it may be one’s own medical procedure. For others, it might be the experience of supporting a partner, a family member, or a friend. We want to explore the vastness of these stories, through your own words and art. 1 in 4 women choose to have an abortion. These numbers suggest that we all know and love people who have made this choice.

We hope to reveal the humanity that exists within these stories and to honor the opportunity we have had to make healthcare choices for ourselves.  People’s access to abortion is rapidly declining and we believe the ability to make decisions about our own healthcare should be a fundamental right. In sharing this community of postcards in-person and online in advance of the upcoming Fall 2022 election and beyond, we hope to deepen understanding of the need to protect a person’s right to choose, regardless of circumstance.
